Look Up

And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. Numbers 21:8-9

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, ¹⁵ that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. John 3:14-15

Here again we see Jesus fulfilling the signs of the Old Testament. The Israelites, who received the bite of death could be saved by looking up at the serpent on the pole. In the same manner, we who have received the bite of death can be saved by looking up at our Lord Jesus Christ on the Christ. Look to Jesus - look to his atoning death upon the cross - for your salvation. And whenever you seem to have lost your way, whenever doubts creep in, whenever the world seems to tempting or to overwhelming - look to your Lord and Savior upon the cross. And you will be saved from death.
